This place was hopping & bubbling with joy on a Friday evening! People waiting for seating... We opted for bar seating, as it was readily available. Quaint & cozy atmosphere. The pics I had seen on FB actually made the interior look way more sprawled out & spacious, but it's got a cool and inviting vibe. There was live music playing when we visited... nice touch! The bar matron was super friendly & accommodating. I had a craft sour ale. Hubs had a draft Mango Cart. We shared a veggie Firecracker burger & a Surf with Grilled blackened shrimp. The fries were crisp & tasty... frozen variety but double-fried. The burger was gorgeous & tasty (hubs dove in head-first before I could capture a good burger pic). The shrimp were tasty, perfectly blackened. Hubs bragged on the slaw all night! My side salad was beautifully plated. I think for the grilled shrimp, a larger tail-on shrimp would offer the plate greater visual appeal. I was perfectly satisfied with the portion size, though. Our service was prompt & friendly. I did not heavily study pricing, but I believe our meals were each about $15 & our craft drafts were each about $9. Clean restrooms, although odd that the restrooms are immediately adjacent to the bar & dining area... those mishaps come with renovating a historic space, I guess. It is a gorgeous renovation & repurpose of existing building space! Fantastic job, Derrick & Grace! We can't wait for an opportunity to return for a warmer evening & patio seating!

We came on a Wednesday for “kids eat free” deal. For each “kids eat free” meal an adult entree needs to be ordered. This was our first experience with this restaurant. The boy ordered a plain kids hamburger with the fruit. The gal got a cheese quesadilla & fruit. I ordered the grilled Cajun shrimp with French fries & also the cheese grits with grilled shrimp. Neither shrimp dish was too spicy & the shrimp was perfectly cooked. The grits were cheesy & savory & seasoned well. The only complaint I can come up with is the Cole slaw needs more seasoning… either a bit or sugar or a bit of spice. It was fresh & crisp just needed a bit of something… Didn't have an adult beverage but they still had the “winter” themed cocktails available. Other tables around us ordered from the bar & the drinks looked great. Plan to order from the bar on next visit. We will definitely be coming back!

Board on 3rd (Visited September 3rd, 2025) Arrival: Seated at 7:55, drink order taken right away. Drinks: Perfect southern sweet tea, not too sweet/not overbrewed! Atmosphere: Southern/modern vibe, warm and welcoming. Prices are very reasonable, with nothing over $14.99! Service: Staff was attentive, our server checked in as soon as I sipped down my tea. She was also super helpful when I was torn on dessert, recommending the cheesecake since it’s a crowd favorite (she was right!). Timing: Ordered at 8:00, food arrived promptly at 8:11. Food: Shrimp Platter + Salad ($14.99), 7.5/10. Flavor was good, though not very flavorful, the portion felt more like a light meal even with the side salad. “Rodeo” Burger, 9.4/10. One of the best bacon BBQ burgers he’s ever had! The onion straws could have been fried a little longer with more breading, but the flavor overall was spot on and filling. Dessert: Cheesecake with chocolate drizzle 10/10. The crust was phenomenal, the filling melted in my mouth, and it didn’t have that heavy aftertaste some cheesecakes leave behind. Truly one of the best cheesecakes I’ve ever had. Overall: A great experience from start to finish. Excellent service, fair prices, and some standout dishes. We’ll definitely be coming back — and bringing friends along next time!

We absolutely loved this restaurant! Being small business owners ourselves we travel and seek out other small businesses to support. We were told they just opened in September but you wouldn’t have known. We popped in with a table full & two other large parties stepped in before us and no batted an eye. They were super kind, accommodating. Fast with our food and the food was amazing!! We had 10 ppl and not one person had a complaint about the food or the service. The atmosphere was magical with it being the holidays and we just 10/10 recommend this cozy local hotspot. They also have outdoor seating with lighting for ambience. And a very nice equipped bar. Stop in and say Hi

Beautiful old main street aside, a better place to fill my stomach & wet my beak after driving from St. Louis all morning to avoid a snowstorm that weekend...

We drove here from some distance away to find that sometime months ago the owner changed the Friday hours. It was disappointing that it wasn't updated here, and we ended up having to go somewhere else. Update: Thank you for your response Grace. We were able to come back during your open hours and really enjoyed your restaurant! The cheese curds were amazing, with a nice crisp batter (if that's also used on the fish, I'll bet that's great as well!) Tater tots also had a good crunch - it was nice to see those as a side option. The burger itself could have used more seasoning in my opinion, but overall the combination of jalapeno pimento cheese, bacon, and arugula was really flavorful and the beef high quality. The servers were friendly and attentive, and the food came out promptly and nice and hot. We'll be back when we're in the area again!

The food is fresh and delish. My favorites so far are the cluck cluck salads and hand battered chicken strips. My lunch group friends loved the chicken tacos and burgers. The atmosphere is casual and laid back, and the service is great. The owners have done a wonderful job restoring this old building into a thriving business in historic downtown Batesville.
